Something not working? Start here.

Most CarPlay problems come down to three things: the iOS version, the widget slot, and whether the car is actually running CarPlay. Work through these before writing in.

The widget slot is empty

CarPlay widgets need iOS 26 or later. Open Settings → General → CarPlay → your car → Customize, and make sure the CARFACE widget is in the list. The screen refreshes on the next connection, not instantly.

The connection sound does not play

Set both sounds in the app — connect and disconnect are separate.Car volume must be up before the handshake; some cars mute the first second.Wireless CarPlay connects a beat later than wired — the sound follows the connection, not the ignition.If the car starts playback immediately, it can talk over the clip. Pause your music app before plugging in to test.

Lyrics do not follow the song

Connect Apple Music or Spotify once in the app.Lyrics exist only for tracks that have timed lyrics on file — the widget shows track and artist instead of guessing.For radio or someone else’s playlist, turn on Shazam Mode.

My car is not on the list

CARFACE works wherever Apple CarPlay works — over 800 models, built in or through an aftermarket head unit. If CarPlay runs in your car, CARFACE runs. No CarPlay at all? Dynamic Lyrics still works in StandBy with the iPhone on a mount.
